Golden Hills Arts and Science College is situated on the top of the Hillock, Ponnumthora. Those who have visited the college at least once will never forget the scenic beauty on both sides of the winding path that leads to the campus. But when the college shifted its Campus from Elettil vattoly to the present site there were hardly any trees or even saplings in the campus. It was because of land leveling for the construction of buildings. The greenery that adorns the campus today is the result of the hard work of the members of the Nature club with the whole hearted support of the college management. The club started functioning in the very first year of the new campus. The club aims at inculcating an appreciation of nature among the students and encouraging them to participate in a variety of conservation initiatives. Its effort includes inviting leading environmentalists to the campus and talk to the students. These talks are aimed at sensitizing the students to the opportunities and challenges in addressing environmental issues. Today the students very often celebrate their birthday by planting trees in the campus. In Summer Season they provide drinking water to the numerous birds in and around the campus. Though we have to travel a long distance to fulfill our objectives we still continue the journey with much enthusiasm.
